Expansion Core Alpha 0.1.4 Patch Notes


To get ready for a 0.2.0 release, I've switched over to using Butler to push my builds (so we'll see how that goes). In terms of updates, this one was heavily influenced by the first round of playtesting.

New Features:
- Made it so that if the Mobile Base is destroyed, it automatically repairs itself after 30 seconds
- Made the mobile base repair itself when deployed
- Made the player heal if near a deployed Mobile Base
- Added particle effects for drills when drilling
- Added healing effects to all allies
- Added healing AOE effects to the Healer and Mobile Base
- Added furnace fire effects when cooking
- Added a bunch of new UI to help figure out what's going on when building structures.
- All of the interaction text has been moved and changed to be more helpful.
- The crafting menu has been reworked to use the colored text for showing needed items.
- The structure/chassis/crafting menu now has tabs for easier navigation.
- All of the health/power/exp bars have been color coded for further readability.
- Updated the new module slot icon on the Mobile Base for more readability.
- Updated the help menu with up-to-date controls.
- Overall the main change for this patch is making the UI more useful.


Bug Fixes:
- Fixed the day/night cycle (hopefully... this is the third time I've reworked it)
- Fixed Trader's death animation
- Fixed a bunch of overlapping UI elements

Behind the scenes:
- Started work on multiplayer, but it's nowhere near the point of really working. I just have basic movement/inventory/damage set up so far.
- Lots of work is going into making and animating new models for upcoming creatures and allies, but none of that is in the game yet.
- Oops I just now realized that I left in a debug log... Oh well
