Expansion Core Alpha 0.4.0 Patch Notes
NEW BUILD! Alpha 0.3.0 Patch Notes:
Major Features:
- HUBS! HUBs are locations scattered around the world that act as safe-zones for the player. Each HUB starts as a beacon that the player can activate to summon a mega-structure from space. Whenever a HUB is called, an event will occur, drawing enemies to the player. If they player survives for the whole event, the HUB will spawn and the area will now be protected (AKA your integrity won't tick down).
- More enemies! The Scorched biome should now have more enemy types, specifically the healer and armored spider bots.
- More locations! I spent a lot of time trying to add some more locations throughout the world to add some variety. Obviously I'll be continuing this as I update the game, but for now, there's now an Oil Field and a Watch Tower area. Both are filled with resources and feature HUB beacons.
New Features:
- Better Enemy AI: I spent some time refreshing some of the old enemy code, so they should wander less while fighting. That being said, the spitters have had a major update because of the addition of the spider bots. All projectiles should now properly work and shooter AI shouldn't get stuck in bad states.
- More Items: Along with the new enemies, I've added a couple new items that drop from the spider bots. They can be smelted down into usable copper and iron bars. I also added a horn that drops from the Scorched Mother that you can sell for some cash.
- Repeated Attacks: You can now constantly attack by holding the LMB instead of spam clicking!
- More Sounds: As always, I've added some more sounds for different things in the world. Obviously I'm still missing out on a lot, but I'm working on it.
Bug Fixes:
- Dropping items no longer resets their name in some cases
- The Core, when picked up, now goes to your left hand instead of your right hand
- Fixed a lot of save issues with items/furnaces/bots not retaining inventories
- Fixed the player's attack animation states so you can now attack in air
- Fixed an old old old bug where you could walk around while checking the local stats with RMB
- Most AI movements should be less jittery when rotating
- Fixed some HUD references not being set, causing the HUD to break
- Updated the integrity system to be more flexible with the addition of HUBs
Behind the scenes:
- Not much for this patch. Just laid out a more clear roadmap for getting a full beta release within the next 8 months.
