Expansion Core Alpha 0.7.0 Patch Notes
NEW BUILD! Alpha 0.7.0 Patch Notes:
Major Features:
- Player Upgrades: You can now use the same upgrade modules that are used to upgrade allies on yourself! More inventory space, faster move speed, more health, etc.
- Copper Smasher Ally: Added a new tier of fighter between the Ram bot and the Iron Grappler. The Copper Smasher is the fastest of the three combat bots and does a decent amount of damage.
- Medium Furnace Bot: Ever wanted a medium furnace to walk around? Look no further! This new bot smelts faster, uses less fuel per each operation and has two fuel slots for long term smelting!
- Sprinter Enemy Type: Introducing the Sprinter! The uncorrupted versions are docile, and flee when attacked. Be careful though because the evolved forms are much more deadly and are capable of dashing at tremendous speeds!
New Features:
- Respawning at Spawn Points: Now, whenever the player dies, they will spawn at the nearest active HUB, or the Shipyard if there's no active HUBs. If you have allies nearby, they will also come with you. This feature will likely change and evolve over time, but this is how I intended it to work from the start.
- Attack Speed Upgrades: A new yellow slot upgrade has been added to increase attack speed. Some changes had to happen behind the scenes to make it so that modifying attack speeds didn't break anything.
- Follower Limit Upgrades: The player is now limited to a max number of allies, currently defaulted to 7. To increase this, I've added a new upgrade type that can increase the follower limit. Note that this only applies if the upgrade is used on the player.
- Bigger Iron Grappler: In order to fit the theme of every tier of bot being bigger, I scaled up the Iron Grappler's model to match it's tier.
Bug Fixes:
- Scrapping allies with cores now properly drops the core before returning half of the used resources.
- Fixed some states where allies could get stuck in the attack animation when being interacted with.
- Fixed an issue with spitter projectiles throwing errors behind the scenes when spawned within the intended target.
- Fixed Ally UI to properly hide the power bar if the target ally doesn't actually use any power.
- Fixed several structures' collisions so that AI can properly path around them.
Behind the scenes:
- There was a lot of code cleanup being done behind the scenes for this patch. I added in some new content just to spice up this patch, but honestly the main focus for me was general busy work.
