NEW BUILD! Beta Candidate 0.4 Patch Notes:
Two updates within a week of each other? Yep! As it turns out, rushing out a build without testing it much breaks things... So basically I needed to fix some of the bugs I created.
New Features:
- Smarter Allies! I've rewritten some of the basic AI code for allies to properly try to find nearby enemies when they're either spawned, or not yet seen as aggressive (AKA, have they attacked the player/the ally).
- Axebot Update. The Axebot should now tell you if there's no nearby resources to cut via the "R" to secondary interact prompt updating it's text. All versions of the Axebot should now also search a larger area for tree cutting.
- Extended Interaction Range. I decided to increase the range that you can pick up items and interact with allies a bit because it was bothering me that it was tough to pick up items.
- Nicer Movement. The player can now sprint in all directions finally! I've had a lot of push and pull with playtesters, but in the end I think everyone was right that it feels bad to only be able to sprint forward. So I changed it!
Bug Fixes:
- FINALLY fixed the escape button to open AND close the pause menu!
- Fixed a major bug with the opening tutorial breaking on the "Pick up Items" section
- Fixed an issue where the "Arms" slot for armor wasn't visible
- Moved Steel axe and sword to the correct research tier
- Fixed the Axebot hit sound so that it can't be heard from thousands of miles away
- Fixed an issue that was causing creatures spawned by events to drop MORE instead of LESS items. That one has been an issue for a while...
- Updated the Mobile Base's collisions so that it should make more sense where to aim to interact with it
- When enemies die, they now properly use physics to return to the ground after death, so no more floating corpses
- Loading old worlds should now spawn the correct number of Transfer bots depending on the current size of the Mobile Base
- Fixed a texture issue with the landscape, so there should now no longer be clear seams
